Dr. Whitwell grew up in Houston, Texas with a lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian. After graduating from Abilene Christian University in 1986, she was accepted into Texas A&M University of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 1990. Following graduation, she spent the next year in a rotating internship with the West Los Angeles Veterinary Medical Group where she received additional training in surgery, endoscopy and emergency critical care.
Dr. Whitwell has spent the last 23 years working at the North Texas Emergency Pet Clinic (NTEPC) in Carrollton, Texas where she has collaborated with Dr. Gray on many cases. Her and Dr. Gray have been colleagues through their mutual relationships with the NTEPC and during the early years of Timber Valley Pet Hospital, she would work as a relief veterinarian when Dr. Gray needed help. They have a great deal in common as practitioners and as individuals.
Dr. Gray has attempted to hire Dr. Whitwell numerous times over the years, but she remained committed to her position in emergency medicine. We were overjoyed when we decided it was time to find an associate veterinarian to help carry the case load at Timber Valley Pet Hospital and the timing was finally right for Dr. Whitwell to join us! She is exactly what we need in an associate because she is experienced, competent and appropriately confident in her ability to handle anything that may come in to our practice on a daily basis.
Dr. Whitwell has lived in the Lewisville/Flower Mound area since 1992 and is excited to be serving this community. The combined experience level of Dr. Whitwell and Dr. Gray is matched by their ability to relate to clients in a caring and compassionate way. They are both focused on patient care, committed to delivering excellent service to our clients, and unwavering in their dedication to Timber Valley Pet Hospital’s patients and clients.
